Research area

Human & nonhuman communication

A communication perspective on meaning, agency and relationships in sociotechnical environments.

Summary

Artificial intelligence participates in situations previously described primarily as human relationships: teaching, deliberating, informing and building trust. This research examines the communicative conditions of those interactions.

The focus is on meaning-making, the attribution of agency and the role of digital infrastructures. It connects communication theory with the study of emerging practices and systems.

Research approach

Communication theory, interpretation and analysis of sociotechnical environments.
