Segue no Rolé and my early years in communication
A documentary journey from 2008: internet video, Megazine’s youth council, Outros500, PlusTV Sports, UVA Music and early records between Brazil and Mexico.

2008: the beginning of Segue no Rolé
My work in communication began with audiovisual production in Brazil. Segue no Rolé brought together travel, interviews, local experiences and audience participation in videos for the internet. The Itatiaia and Penedo record was uploaded to the original channel on 16 July 2008. Other episodes preserve visits to Recreio, Praia do Pepê and Búzios. These dates document project uploads rather than a business incorporation date. In the 2010 ClicTV/UOL interview, Guilherme and I discussed the project’s creation, programme editing and viewers’ suggestions.
2010–2011: O Globo’s Megazine youth council
On 27 September 2010, O Globo announced six members elected by public vote to its Megazine youth council. I was selected for a contribution announced as lasting four months, involving story ideas and editorial activities. On 24 February 2011, Megazine published an article about internet programmes under my byline as a council member. It also describes Segue no Rolé and its audience participation. The newspaper’s report on the selection and my own signed contribution to the supplement are identified separately here.
2010: travel collaboration with Outros500
The Segue no Rolé blog preserves my announcement of joining the travel category of Outros500, a Multishow project bringing together content from internet contributors. This is a contemporary first-party source and is identified as such: it records how we announced the collaboration. Other contributors’ contemporary accounts and launch coverage also document the Outros500 project. The role described here is travel content contributor.
2011: presenting PlusTV Sports and UVA Music
Contemporary 2011 records place my presenting work in Brazil before the copies uploaded to the current channel. PlusTV Sports was a web TV programme featuring interviews and reports across sporting disciplines. UVA Music was part of the TV UVA environment at Universidade Veiga de Almeida, bringing together conversations and music performances. This archive links 19 PlusTV Sports records and 14 UVA Music records uploaded to the channel in 2014, including Bob Burnquist and Banda Jeans. Those YouTube upload dates are not presented as recording dates. A reel uploaded in 2013 also documents this stage of presenting and reporting.
Directing, production and editing
This audiovisual work also includes roles behind the camera. Original channel descriptions credit me with directing January Trip and the Falta de Você music video by Art e Juízo, and with editing and finishing Histeria Rock Festival II. The Redação Alvinegra series preserves production and editing credits. These are credits stated in the original uploads, linked to their records so that the specific roles and other production participants can be identified.
2013–2015: Brazil, Mexico and public communication
In 2013, a video with Gustavo Bizzo documented a television production assignment in a Universidad Anáhuac class. In January 2014, a Hechos AM report on TV Azteca covered my impressions of Mexico as a Brazilian student. The archive also preserves a brief explanation of Brazil’s Marco Civil da Internet uploaded in April 2014 and a visit to Aldea Digital uploaded in July 2015. The interview with TV Azteca’s Óscar Gómez was uploaded in November 2015. These are distinct records of education, public communication and media participation, with their contexts and upload dates identified.
A trajectory that continues in research
Audiovisual production, writing and interviews form part of my communication experience before my current academic work. Today I research how meaning, knowledge and agency take shape in relationships between people and artificial systems. Recovering these materials documents the practices and experiences that preceded that agenda. Scientific articles, projects and books retain their own pages, references and publication statuses elsewhere on this site.
